The best time to find a team was yesterday. The next best time is today.
We all wish that we ALREADY had an established mission — especially right now. If you’re feeling overwhelmed and worried about transition or what you have or have not been doing, I hear you friend, and I am here for you. When I left staff it took nearly 6 months just to find one friend, one brother in faith in my new community. If you’re anything like me, after leaving campus you may have encountered or worried you might encounter difficulties in prayer, Catholic fellowship, and sharing the faith.
There’s no doubt that the culture of the world is hostile and the Devil is indeed prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. That someone is both us (FOCUS alumni) and those we love. FOCUS alumni are not immune to this reality but often we struggle with consistency and community. You’ll have that community and constant encouragement after joining lifelongU.
I don’t want you to look back in 6 or even 12 months from now without a team, lacking ongoing formation and baffled about your new mission... tempted not to get back onto the battlefield.
I want you to live your mission with CONFIDENCE… proud of the way you are serving the Lord. Looking back I believe you will see your decision to be encouraged and formed through lifelongU as critical in your post-campus mission. Let’s be soldiers together.
